Trang An Marathon 2025: Over 10,000 athletes will compete on the Heritage route in Ninh Binh.

VTV.vn – On the morning of November 9, 2025, the Trang An Marathon 2025 officially kicked off in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital – Ninh Binh, welcoming more than 10,000 athletes from provinces and cities across the country and more than 15 countries around the world.
Organized by VRace in collaboration with the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, the event has become the province’s largest annual sporting event, contributing to promoting sports training, spreading the spirit of healthy and green living, and promoting the image of the Trang An World Heritage Site to the world.
More than just a race, the Trang An Marathon 2025 is also a large-scale sports and tourism festival, expected to attract approximately 30,000 athletes, their families, and tourists to Ninh Binh at the end of the year, creating a positive effect on the sustainable sports tourism development orientation that the province is implementing.
The race recorded impressive achievements.
The race welcomed over 10,000 athletes participating in 4 distance categories: marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.0975km), heritage exploration (10km), and heritage route experience (5km). With 4 distances – 4 different routes, athletes had wonderful experiences and praised the race.
Impressive innovations of Trang An Marathon 2025 – A milestone in its 5th season in the heart of the Kep Heritage Site.
Returning after four successful seasons, Trang An Marathon 2025 took place at a special time – celebrating the merger of the three provinces of Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, and Ninh Binh and the success of the 1st Ninh Binh Provincial Party Congress. This year, the race brought a series of impressive innovations, affirming the Organizing Committee’s continuous efforts to enhance the experience for athletes. In addition, the prize structure has been expanded by age group in the 42km distance, aiming to encourage fair competition and recognize the efforts of the amateur running community.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong – Permanent Deputy Director of the Department of Culture & Sports of Ninh Binh province said: “The Trang An Marathon is not only a sporting event but also a cultural bridge – where each step on the Heritage route is a journey to conquer one’s limits and spread the beauty of nature, culture, and people of Vietnam. This is also an important activity in the strategy of developing sports tourism in Ninh Binh, contributing to bringing the image of the Trang An dual heritage site closer to international friends.”
Standardized Scale – Aiming for International Standards
All four distances of the race, including Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.0975km), 10km, and 5km, have been measured, monitored, and certified by the Vietnam Athletics Federation as meeting technical standards, ensuring that athletes’ achievements are officially recognized.
Representatives of TAM 2025’s strategic partner, 361º Sports, affirmed their commitment to supporting VRace in developing sustainable sports in Vietnam in general and running in particular. This person shared: “We are proud to be a part of the Trang An Marathon 2025 season – to continue bringing the spirit of daring to venture and push boundaries to this World Heritage site. We believe that every step on this route not only demonstrates physical strength and perseverance, but also connects Vietnamese cultural identity, the beauty of nature, and the spirit of conquest.”
Brand Positioning – A Race in the Heart of a World Heritage Site
Over the past five years, the Trang An Marathon has become a symbol of sports, culture, and tourism in Ninh Binh, where sports and heritage intertwine, spreading the image of the Trang An World Heritage Site to international friends.
The race continues to affirm its brand positioning as “A race in the heart of a Heritage Site,” aiming to build Ninh Binh into a green and sustainable sports tourism center in the future.
